The taxonomy of protozoa is not simple and there are several taxonomic levels (Subphylum, Class, Subclass, Order). For the purposes of this website I have simplified this to 'Group' (Flagellates, Sarcodina, Ciliates and Suctoria) with 'Subgroup' between this and Genus.
